So for a couple of us we find it annoying that even if we wait a couple days to have to pack all our crap into a bin and "fast travel" to all the bases to check on the status of the dinos and collect fresh food for them. So until then, several of the tribe has taken a short hiatus and only log in sporadically at best. Unfortunately, the plans for a massive "Main" metal base was put on hold due to the fact the location scouted is in the swamp biome region and construction has halted until that patch drops. We have managed to amass around 5-6 smaller bases throughout the island, all with maybe a dozen dinos each. But for some context on why I'm asking is that I play on a Private Server with a single smaller tribe. Has anyone tried this before? Or tested the viability of something simple like Dodo kibble being used for feeding purposes instead of just taming?Īs I pointed out earlier, I am aware that it takes a fair length of time for things to begin starving to death. I haven't tested this but in theory you could spend an hour cooking up a stack and keep your dinos fed and alive for an extended break of almost 2 months or longer before they started starving to death. So has anyone attempted with a large dino population filling a Feeding Trough with say a 100 stack of Dodo Egg Kibble? I mean in theory both herbivores and carnivores will eat the kibble, all dinos will eat less often (100 hunger instead of 50), and with a spoil time of 12 hours in trough (3hrs x 4) the stack will take almost 2 months before it all spoils. However say for example that you wanted to keep your Dinos fed the longest if they are never really allowed to enter a "hibernation" state (due to tribe-mates popping on/off at random intervals). So I was wondering, I know Tamed Dinos will last quite a long time if they aren't used and even longer if no one from the tribe is nearby allowing them to enter a sort of "hibernation" state.
